Ecopolis was not that special. The place had little seating and was not too inviting. Would be good to get a cup of coffee before the train in the morning. But don't expect too much.

The coffee was good, but I prefer a place with Wifi, seating and people in conversation. Where is the old school cafe hang outs?

This place is blatantly lousy. The coffee situation is confused, but it gives the impression that it's basing itself on the coffee. It's an odd hybrid of a non-profit and a commercial shop, but it neither conveys dedication to the non-profit or the shop. At an unfortunate landing, it falls to a distressingly mediocre in-between with clearly poorly treated staff and a sloppy mission statement. There is very little consideration given to the quality of the coffee, and since PTs is a roaster with fantastic potential, they do a very disrespectful job of representing their product. Also (with no disrespect for PTs), for a shop that tries to convey a "local" perspective, Kansas is hardly a "local" prospect, given the growing base of quality roasters nearby. I wish I had a positive point to bring up, but Ecopolis (the naming of which is an unfortunate circumstance all of its own) falls short in everything you would wish it would be, with the sole exception being its proximity to the subway. There are so many other compassionate and genuinely caring shops out there, it seems absurd to support such a confused and poorly thought-out shop. Quality and care exists elsewhere, so spend your money elsewhere to support a shop and employees who actually care.

I went into Ecopolis with great expectations. I only found a confused, badly staffed, badly organized, mix of things that neither resembled a non profit learning center or good cafe.

the coffee selection has definitely improved as of late, they have switched around coffees and most recently sampled some of their Cold Brew made exclusively for them by a micro roasted called Brewklyn Grind - they have a website, started by 3 brooklyn brothers... www.brewklyngrind.com

BEST CAFE IN BROOKLYN! wasn't so good when they started up in 2010, but have found their way to perfection and boy are they perfect! I come here every morning before going on the subway to work. Try their croissants and iced coffee, both are just to die for!
